Crazy Night With A Lil Bit Of A Good Deed

This week I have been very busy traveling from CT to NYC for events 3 days in a
row. I am tiredddd !!!!!! :-) Don't get me wrong I love NYC but I need a break.

Any who let's get down to the business. Last night bestsie & I went to Subterraneo, an underground Dia de los Muertos-themed affair celebrating both the life eternal and the birth of Jose Cuervo Tradicional. It was cool and interesting. I was very grateful for not being suffocated. We left around 12:45am so we can catch the last train to CT the 1:49am. First off there was some heavy ass traffic down 42nd street, at one point we didn't know if we were going to make it.

As usual the late night/early morning trains 12am-2am contains mostly drunkpassengers. Before getting on the train 3 guys were already going at it. Well because we are so special those 3 guys decided to sit in the same train cart as us. Just shy of 3 stops before our stop Bridgeport, a fight breaks out on the train between those 3 guys. 2 friends against one guy.

Don't get me wrong, the single guy was running his mouth but he walked away. The 2 friends decided that they wanted to fight. Well guys there was no one on one, apparently that still doesn't exist. The 2 friends jumped the one guy in the vestibule.

I was not expecting them to physically fight. I saw the fight and immediately went to get the conductor at the back of the train in the next train cart. The train was stopped immediately. By the time I got back to my cart the fight stopped. But when I saw the single guy, my heart was beating really fast. His face was bloody beyond belief. All I saw was rage in his eyes. Who wouldn't feel that way knowing you got jumped and your girlfriend got hurt in the process.

We were suppose to reach Bridgeport at 3:15am, didn't arrive until 3:45. I'm sure you're saying "I'm sure they are glad to get off that train", of course !!! But guess what ? Shit was just getting started. We got off the train and couldn't leave the train station/platform because it's closed. If you guys don't know my bestsie is in a wheel chair. So I'm saying to myself I can't carry that 600lbs chair down the stairs.

Now we have taken the 1:49am from Grand Central a gazillion times & the doors to leave the station are open. Last night was the first time EVER that I called 911 because bestsie said so. I was on hold for about 10 mins thank god we weren't actually hurt. Low & behold there are security guards in the train station 24/7. WTH !!!

I wish we would of known this because I would've definitely been banging down the door. Now we know if this scenario was ever to happen again don't call 911 bang on the security door.

This is usually what our life consists of, weird/sad/crazy situations. My bestsie says God was testing us, could it be ? I don't know but I feel extremely bad for the guy that got jumped. Seeing someone get hurt like that in front of your eyes is not a good feeling.

I was telling myself that if I didn't go get the conductor they would of fought and we would be home and not calling 911 to let us out of the station. I was told you did a good deed, you saved a innocent persons life tonight. Some ppl wouldn't do what you did. I'm all messed up :-( Sometimes you have that feeling I did a good deed, why do I feel so bad ?

I'm tired of seeing African Americans fight over stupid things. I say fight because someone hit you first, not because they didn't move over for you to see down or someone looked at you wrong. You look extremely stupid and uncivilized. I'm sure these people have children as well. What great examples they're setting.

If you are more laid back and don't take dating too seriously then ask yourself some honest questions about why you are dating and what you hope to achieve. If it is purely sex then ask yourself if you are about to be honest with those you hope to date.

Your date will appreciate that you demonstrated some effort.

Last week Wednesday I bought a new family member that I have been dying to get months ago. He's finally here ! Meet Oggy my first son/betta :-). I love this betta & I only have had him for 5 days. This would be my first time taking care of a fish by myself.

Growing up I had various pets : rabbits, bearded lizard, snake, parakeets, and fish. Yes I have a great love for animals, I probably prefer them over humans...lol. So I think Oggy is spoiled already acting like a prince. I created such a beautiful palace for him & it seems he like his studio apartment (the container he came) a lil bit too much. He has been in this container for 5 days, next week I will be putting him in his tank. Oggy will have a nice & toasty new life. I had to get a tank heater because my house is ummm how can I say this, always a couple degrees colder than outside. If I'm cold he has to be cold as well. I just got him , I'm not trying to kill him. Even though I'm paranoid.

Almost every couple mins , I'm checking on him....lol. I'm excited but also nervous because Oggy is already a picky eater. Bettas can go a whole week without food. But he needs to eat, right ? I just hope he's not stubborn and starves himself to death. Hopefully Oggy can live for at least 3 yrs :-) I'm also thinking if I should give him some friends to play with. Hmmm we'll see if he gets use to his new home first.

Also, Oggy is not too fond of his store bought fish food (flakes or pellets). But he sure would inhale fresh salmon........

Ghetto Fab Wig

Two weeks ago I read an article on CurlyNikki.com about Kohls having a Halloween wig called "Ghetto Fab". I'm sure you have guessed that the natural hair community has been raising hell about it. I'm not super mad but I am concerned about a wig being called "Ghetto Fab" because it's a curly Afro. Why the wig couldn't be named "Curly Afro" why use the word "ghetto". I'm not offended I just wonder why the manufacturers would pick the word "ghetto". I'm sure other ppl are thinking that the company is saying every person with a curly Afro is ghetto. I don't like blowing things out of proportion but I have to wonder about this decision to name the wig "ghetto fab". Also there were so many complaints that the wig is no longer available at kohls.com.

Four Loko On Deck ?

So last night round 10pm I decided to try Four Loco. If you haven't heard of it, I suggest that you should do some research. The first time I heard of it is from
my best friend. I'm not going to lie the stuff I was hearing had me very interested. I did know that it was a malt drink.

My best friend said that a few ppl she know said its "dangerous". I'm thinking damn a malt beverage that can make you act a fool..hmmm. But I also thought damn what kind of shit is this. Like I said I'm interested but I instantly thought I'm sure the liquor store across the street from me probably won't have it.

Today my mom sent me to get her power ball tickets. I thought I want a bottle of Moscato, I haven't drank in my house since forever. While I'm getting my wine, I see a colorful ass can in the refrigerator section wondering what kind of drink is this. I'm not going to lie first glance It look like an energy drink. Then I started to read the can & it's malt liquor/energy drink. There are two different cans but I can't remember what's the name of the malt beverage my bestsie was talking about. I didn't feel
like calling her waking her up out of her sleep to find out what's the name. When I reached back home I told her about the drinks I saw & she told me the name "Four Loko". I could only remember one of the drinks being "Joose or Loose".

So about an hour later I needed to go back outside to Rite Aid. I thought why not go to the liquor store to see if they have it. Low & behold they had "Four Loko". Two
flavors Loko UVA & Blue Raspberry. I bought 3 Blue Raspberry & 1 Loko UVA. I tried it around 10pm, and it taste like beer mixed with liquor. The Four Loko is a 23.5 fl oz with 12.0% alcohol. Now to me, that's an crazy amount of alcohol to be in a malt beverage. My bestsie didn't like it at all. She said it tasted like Robotussin...lol. My Loko UVA was not that bad. But I can say you will be a lil winded in about 15-20 mins depending on your body weight. I wouldn't consider it dangerous unless you are chugging 6 cans straight through with no break. I wouldn't recommend doing that either because it has caffeine, taurine, and guarana with alcohol. Now the first three ingredients actually does not affect me, I have tried energy drinks with all 3 and I feel normal.

We all know some ppl get really wired up of these ingredients. They can get your heart racing & your basically panting to control your breathing. What's the aftermath of drinking Four Loko ? For me I was definitely a lil buzzed, heart rate went up a lil bit and was feeling nauseous until I went to sleep and even when I woke up. I was going to the bathroom all friggin night and I didn't eat properly all day because YES I was still feeling nauseous. My bestise didn't even finish her can because she felt her heart racing a lil bit and she stopped. Would I try it AGAIN ? I don't know the jury is still out on that one. All I have to say is give it a try :-D

I still have 2 cans left :-( lol

Today I saw a video that I can relate to but now that I am natural it means much more. Indie Aire" I Am Not My Hair". A lot of people might say it is very cliche for someone who has just turn natural to feel this way " I am not my hair". Personally when I had my hair relaxed I still had question such as "do folks like me more because my hair is straight?","am I more attractive?" etc. It may be cliche but it's true. Does having straighter hair make me a better person, better friend, better worker, better role model ? Of course it shouldn't be that way but there are people who judge people by their hair. If W folks can wear their natural long silky straight hair, why can't B folks wear their kinks and curls ? I'm just saying....Hair doesn't make the person

I Want To Go To The SPA !!!!!!!!!!!!

For the whole summer all I can think about is going to the SPA. I have went once with my Mom and it was an experience I will never forget. The environment feels sooooo damn good. You go in and literally forget about what happened yesterday and last week. With that being said, there is a song that I love so much by Goapele "Closer". I heard it yesterday and instantly I zoned out and went somewhere surreal...lol. Great feeling. Some songs just take you to another place. Whenever I get the chance to go back to the SPA, I need to hear that song while getting rubbed down....lmao

Mom Dukes Natural ?

I spoke to my Mom today and of course she can go on and on and on. Before I completely zoned out, she said something interesting. My Mom has not relaxed her hair since October 9, 2009. This Saturday will be her one year Nappyversary.

I'm sure you're wondering how she inserted that into the conversation. Well she was telling me how when she gets off of work she wants to get her hair twisted. So I asked "you're getting extensions ?" she replied "no I'm just twisting my hair". I asked how much is it ? $50 !!!! My reaction was of course, WTH Mom I can do that for you. I can braid and twist, you shouldn't be paying $50 to twist your own hair with no extensions. She said she was not relaxing her hair anymore. Honestly for as long as I can remember, my Mom would go months at a time without a relaxer, she just hates it.

So when my Mom gets off work I will be doing her hair and I'm actually excited so I can share all of the new found knowledge I have learned since I went natural over a month ago. By the way, she doesn't know I cut off my hair and went natural. This shall be interesting... :-D

Never make yourself too available. People like mystery and the thrill of the chase when dating. As part of keeping up the mystery, do not sleep with your dates early on. The longer a person is made to chase and fall for you within reason, the more likely that love may blossom. (And yes, this goes for both men AND women!) If the chemistry peaks too early, your emotions may never have time to catch up and the relationship will eventually wither away.
